Social Media- an addiction

Social Media has been around since 1997, And it has only attracted millions, Billions of people,
Its existence has bought mostly positive effects in my opinion, I mean interacting with people living far away from you is made easier, Interaction has increased and so has exploration.
People of all ages use social media, And it's not that much of an obstruction really to anyone, It really becomes the enemy in the context when the user interacts with the app in the manner He/She is not supposed to, By this I mean to expose the real reason why social media is thought of negatively all around the world by many people, Yes I just stated its a great invention but not everyone thinks the same.
People have been using this app in a very unhealthy manner that is :
Using social media almost the whole day because they get never-ending dopamine from watching those short videos or videos of their preference.
Many teenagers just use social media thinking they have a future in it, as in becoming influencers etc, They stop focusing on their real goals in life altogether and start creating "content" on social media for becoming an influencer. They have to be understood of the fact that influencers do not have job security and many other features a normal job, Entrepreneurship or business can provide.
I have observed people who sacrifice their sleep for social media and its infinite dopamine, They keep on watching until someone nudges them to stop.
In honest truth, These are just a few instances many more things have been started, Instigated by these people on social media, I myself was also stuck in this trap until 2019-2020 when I came in class 10, This class consists of board examinations and it's considered a crucial year etc. This year was one where I started making habits like sitting down for more time to study or maybe overcoming temptations to use my mobile phone etc, Even though the boards got cancelled the habits helped in 11th because now I am able to peacefully stay without opening any apps like Instagram or Snapchat for months or even a year.
On the other hand, Social media has also been a big help in spreading messages, Awareness be it fake or real, It allowed people to communicate throughout the world, It allows people to unite.
That said we only reach a certain conclusion that Apps are meant to be used for your gain, Making connections, Spreading awareness, Exploring but it shouldn't be the app using you for chilling but from 15 minutes to 5 hours, Or sacrificing your health etc.
Have control over yourself don't let it control you. :D
